We are less than a month away from our premiere date at the Jacob Burns Film Center in Pleasantville, NY. There is no longer a set class time, as students have been in and out of the editing room throughout the week. Students have been spending a ridiculous amount of time editing, so much so that there are blankets and snacks piled up in the room.
Last week, we focused on cutting and trimming each interviews into their perspective areas. Today with Professor Luskay’s help, we developed our transitions and storyline even further. The editors managed to complete Act 1 and Act 2, with the help of our transcribers dissecting the best sound bites to fit the story. Meanwhile, two students went through and selected the best music to go along with the story, matching the Hawaiian spirit.
Along with making progress in both Act 1 and 2, we decided upon our official film poster to advertise the documentary. The graphics were created by Rayan A. Milan, a professional graphic designer. The poster, shown below, will be hung up around campus and at the film center to promote the official debut. Students also shared the poster across various social media platforms, further spreading the news. Although the poster will mainly be seen by the Pace community, tickets will be open to the public for purchasing.
Other students had the job of creating a poster book to commemorate the people who were involved in the production. We are working closely with a public relations class that aids us in the event planning. With the involvement of two classes, two professors, and a graduate assistant, we have all hands on deck to complete this project in the coming weeks. Our full poster is featured below. If you’re on campus… keep a look out!
